Eva Alford is a Staff Accountant at Wamhoff Accounting Services, bringing over 40 years of experience to serving clients with their tax needs. She first joined the firm in 2007 as a Business Tax Professional, a position she held for 4-1/2 years. Eva left Wamhoff upon her husband’s transfer to Ohio in 2012, and was happy to return to the firm when life brought them back to St. Louis in 2017.
Eva entered the tax accounting field in the mid-1970s, when as a student at the University of Missouri Kansas City, she prepared tax returns for students and low income families as a member of the school’s Accounting Club. She graduated with a degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting, and moved to St. Louis to join the tax department of a trust company where she gained experience in estate taxes and the legal considerations associated with estates.
For a number of years, Eva volunteered to help military families with their taxes. As an Air Force wife, she and her husband Tom moved from place to place, which allowed Eva to learn the tax laws of many different states. Before joining Wamhoff and moving back to St. Louis, she worked at a CPA firm in Texas, supporting their business payroll services, and working on business and non-profit tax returns.
Eva and her husband Tom have two grown children and three granddaughters. They enjoy their annual summer beach trips with the entire family, and enjoy additional travel opportunities throughout the year.
