Sandy Furuya, Enrolled Agent, is the President of Wamhoff Accounting Services, leading a team of tax professionals and bookkeepers, and advising corporate and individual clients on their tax matters throughout the year. Sandy and her team prepare over 775 individual, trust, business, and non-profit tax returns on an annual basis.
In addition to tax advice, preparation of returns, and ongoing consulting, she works with businesses on their day-to-day accounting, setting up and maintaining their systems, and providing on-site services as needed. She also has extensive experience working with new businesses, establishing their accounting practices and systems, and helping them through their tax issues.
Sandy has led Wamhoff Accounting in the achievement of a number of accolades over the years. Wamhoff is consistently named among the Best Accounting Firms in St. Louis by St. Louis Small Business Monthly, and Sandy has been named by the paper as Top Accountants in St. Louis. In 2014, Sandy was honored by Streetscape Magazine with its annual Beyond the Best in Business Award which recognizes local business people for their professional achievements and community contributions. She has served as a contributor to Fox 2 News in St. Louis, KMOX radio, and St. Louis Small Business Monthly.
Sandy volunteers her expertise in finance and accounting to many area non-profits. Sandy and her staff provide accounting work and oversight to organizations such as the St. Louis Area Police Chiefs Association, Crusade Against Crime, and T.E.A.M.
Sandy received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting from the University of Missouri in 1985. She is also an Enrolled Agent, a US certification which allows tax professionals to represent clients in dealings with the IRS.
In her spare time, Sandy enjoys spending time with her husband and grandchildren. She also enjoys golf and walking her dog, Sam.
